Guided surgery and CAD/CAM technology from single-tooth replacement to full-arch cases with examples
This course is designed to equip dental professionals with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of digital tools in modern dentistry. Integrating technology into your practice will teach you how to effectively communicate, educate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of cases, from simple to complex. Dentists are traditionally trained to address specific dental issues, often guided by insurance and procedural codes. However, this course emphasies the importance of considering the mouth’s overall health and convincing patients of long-lasting solutions rather than simply fixing single tooth problems.
Digital tools enable you to efficiently register and visualise dental problems and pathologies, making presenting various treatment options to patients easier. To select the best treatment for each patient, you will also gain insights into effectively combining surgical, orthodontic, and prosthetic techniques. Traditional dental implantology methods often rely on 2D imaging and free-handed placement.
This course introduces a more advanced approach using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) guidance. This technology offers significant benefits for implant planning and placement accuracy. You will also learn how to fabricate guides using digital impressions and design for CEREC guides, all of which can be done in-house in under 30 minutes, with materials costing approximately €5. This cost-effective, in-house approach allows for printing guides that are ready for use after cold sterilisation, making guided implant placement accessible without a significant increase in overall costs.
By the end of this course, you will be well-prepared to incorporate digital dentistry into your practice, providing comprehensive oral health solutions that are both cost-effective and patient centered.
Learning objectives
How to utilize intraoral scan and CBCT to communicate, diagnose, plan and treat multidisciplinary cases.
Guided surgery can be more cost efficient than non-guided surgery. Surgery planning and guide design can be done while talking to and educating patient making guided surgery a way to go method for all implant placements.
