Where Healing Begins: Clinical Strategies for Post-Extraction Tissue Preservation & Regeneration

This course will analyze biological healing patterns and how we can predictably manage and/or improve the hard and soft tissues at the extraction site. A special focus will be placed on the indications and uses for resorbable biomaterials. 

Tooth extraction and implant placement are common procedures in our everyday practice. In many clinical situations, we would like to preserve or maintain ideal bone volume. In other scenarios, we must rebuild the hard and soft tissue volume. This course will analyze biological healing patterns and how we can predictably manage and/or improve the hard and soft tissues at the extraction site. A special focus will be placed on the indications and uses for resorbable biomaterials.

This course aims to teach learners how to:

• Analyze the condition of the alveolar socket and predict the biological healing pattern for each case

• Identify appropriate tissue management strategies and materials for different clinical scenarios, including when resorbable biomaterials are indicated

• Apply tissue preservation techniques to support healing of post-extraction site
